Dear Friends,
By now, you will have seen that IU will require all community members to be vaccinated this fall, unless they have a medical reason or a religious exemption, carefully defined. This is cause for celebration. I cannot stress enough that this is how we get our university back, full stop. This is how we have full residential education. This is how we can have open labs and regularly access research sites. This is how we have study abroad, internships, and our programs in other cities. This is how we have spring break. This is how we have basketball games, Little 5, concerts, dances, singing, study groups, and just hanging out with friends.
In other words, this is how we breathe new life into all of the IU traditions we cherish.
I invite you to look at the COVID-19 vaccine page on iu.edu/covid and the site's FAQ for additional information.
In gratitude,
Lauren Robel
