Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing professor Cassidy Sugimoto will lead the Bloomington Faculty Council starting in the fall of 2015.
Here, Cassidy shares some of what she’s learned as an Academic Leadership Program Fellow through the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, a consortium of Big Ten member universities and the University of Chicago. The program develops the leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and academic promise, and helps provide the tools for faculty to analyze and address the challenges of academic administration at major research universities.
The Bloomington Faculty Council canvases faculty and staff for campus consensus on pressing academic and domestic matters, and provides campus and university service through numerous campus committees and the University Faculty Council. More information on the BFC can be found on their website.
