A new focus on learning analytics at Indiana University Bloomington may eventually change the way some classes are structured and taught to support student success, engagement and retention. The Student Learning Analytics Fellows Program brings together a community of faculty scholars who are using analytical data to further student achievement and success both within and across programs, departments and schools.
Full-time faculty instructors of all ranks at IU Bloomington were invited to submit proposals to the program in the fall of 2014. The 10 selected fellows each received $2,000 to study students as learners through personalized research and data collection. Each fellow will submit a report by Sept. 19 that describes the results of their study and makes recommendations for action or further research.
The Student Learning Analytics Fellow Program is funded through the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, in conjunction with the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Program.
