Rachel Green, of Germantown, Tenn., graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and economics from the College of Arts and Sciences.
At IU, Rachel was a Wells Scholar also in the Liberal Arts Management Program; a campus leader in sexual assault prevention and mental health support; a Middle Way House volunteer; and a member of the Board of Aeons, a group of students that advises IU President Michael A. McRobbie on campus issues.
After graduation, Rachel will head to Belfast, North Ireland, as a George J. Mitchell Scholar (one of just 12 in the nation) to pursue graduate work at Queen’s University. “In the long term I want to work with the Department of Justice for women survivors of sexual assault. This year in Ireland will allow me to see a different perspective of ‘how are women impacted by the legal system, and how can I bring that knowledge back to the United States, and vice versa,’” Rachel said. “Do something that you like to do, and eventually, the pieces will come together.”
