The annual Kinsey Institute Juried Art Show gives local, regional and international artists the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Grunwald Gallery in the heart of IU Bloomington’s campus.
Catherine Johnson-Roehr, curator of art, artifacts, and photographs at the Kinsey Institute, said the show began in 2006 as a way of sharing the institute’s substantial art collection with the broader community. The 2015 show, which continues through July 11, brings together paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, videos, sculpture, ceramics, and fiber artworks submitted by artists from all across the country and beyond. The works cover a range of themes, including sex, gender, eroticism, reproduction, sexuality, romantic relationships, the politics of sex and gender, the human figure and sexual health.
