FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University Bloomington’s Provost and Executive Vice President Rahul Shrivastav has appointed a committee to identify candidates for the position of dean at IU’s top-ranked Kelley School of Business.
The Kelley School has been a leader in American business education since 1920, preparing students to lead organizations, start companies, develop new products and services, and shape business knowledge and policy. With more than 126,000 living alumni and a total record enrollment of 15,134 students and about 330 faculty members at IU Bloomington, IUPUI and online worldwide, the Kelley School is among the premier business schools in the country. The school is frequently ranked among the top programs in the U.S. and globally. Its Kelley Direct online MBA and Master of Science programs are ranked No. 1 by U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review. U.S. News also rates Kelley undergraduate programs among the best, ranking it eighth overall.
Ten specialty programs are in the top 25 of their areas, with eight of those -- including accounting, entrepreneurship, and marketing -- in the top 10. Idie Kesner was Dean of the Kelley School from 2013 until August 2022. Ash Soni, Professor of Operations & Decision Technologies and SungKyunKwan Professor at the school, will continue to serve as interim dean during the search process.
Provost Shrivastav praised Soni and Kesner for their exemplary leadership. “It is hard to overstate the importance of the Kelley School to Indiana University—as well as to our partners here in Indiana, across the country, and all over the world,” Shrivastav said. “We now have a wonderful group to help choose a leader for Kelley’s next 100 years.”
Anastasia (Stacy) Morrone, Dean of the IU School of Education, will chair the search committee. The committee includes representatives of faculty, staff, and students at IU Bloomington and IUPUI.
