IU Bloomington has invited identified campus community members to join an operations-focused committee for the Bloomington campus, which will have analogs at the Indianapolis and regional campuses. Under the leadership of the Office of Sustainability, the CAPIC will meet monthly and be charged with developing recommendations to implement the strategies approved in the IU Climate Action Plan. A connected academically focused group will be formed in the new year.
In the interest of safety and wellbeing, IUB will not hold classes on campus April 8, 2024, the date of Bloomington's first full solar eclipse since 1869. With an expected influx of 300,000 or more eclipse seekers to the city, IU Public Safety has been preparing since early 2022 to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Please note this as you plan your spring term. More details will be shared in the new year.
