Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to share that Eliza Pavalko — who served as vice provost for faculty and academic affairs for six years until her return to the faculty in December 2022 — has generously agreed to return to the position. Her appointment goes into effect immediately.
I am deeply grateful for Eliza’s longtime commitment to IU and willingness to cut short her sabbatical to again help lead the Bloomington faculty. I anticipate that Eliza will remain in the role until another vice provost has been appointed; a longer-term plan for leadership transition will be announced in the coming weeks.
I know that many of us continue to grieve Kim Geeslin's passing. Please know that mental health support and counseling remains available through the SupportLinc Employee Assistance Program any time you need it. If your students need extra help, please urge them to connect with the mental health professionals at CAPS or submit a care referral.
Take good care of yourself and others.
