As the new director of Community and School Partnerships and the Herbert Presidential Scholars Program, Shakoor Karim traverses the U.S. to create college pathways for historically marginalized populations. She'll host several groups of precollege students Nov. 12 at IU Auditorium for AAAI's Potpourri of the Arts.

In addition to her work at ERI, the multitalented Abby Henkel cultivates land, is president of the WFIU Community Advisory Board, and sings with two chamber choirs. On Nov. 12, the Bloomington Chamber Singers will perform one of Henkel’s original compositions using text from a poem by Ross Gay.
