As a reminder, the ongoing Task Force on Graduate Education is also part of this planning effort in the area of Student Success and Opportunity.
At our Monday kickoff, we will bring together the IUB 2030 planning teams to charge them with an important task. Each team will work together and with their expanded campus networks to recommend future-facing goals and associated metrics that will guide IUB’s efforts for the next seven years in their core strategic area or areas: Student Success and Opportunity, Transformative Research and Creativity, and Service to State and Beyond.
Clearly, we have many longstanding and emerging strengths, and areas of excellence, on which to build. Our planning will fortify and expand these strengths, along with identifying new areas of opportunity, toward an even brighter future.
Each of these new planning teams will meet weekly, and members will regularly seek ideas from their larger networks to ensure the inclusion of voices from across the campus. Additional built-in aspects of the process will facilitate broad engagement, from small focus groups on specific topics to large town halls to review and provide feedback on the draft plan. Along with generating ideas through these formal processes, teams will also engage the numerous academic units, centers, museums, institutes, and operational units across IU. I encourage you to partner closely with planning teams when these opportunities arise.
Whatever your level of involvement or interest may be during this process, I encourage you to actively follow our collective progress throughout the fall and winter at IUB 2030.
Thank you in advance for your continued excellence, creativity, and meaningful contributions to make IU stronger. Let’s get going to 2030!
